Most of what goes wrong with a car can be prevented. Oil gets old, filters clog, fluids wear out. Handled on time, none of it costs much. Left alone, it turns into the kind of repair nobody plans for.

Your car came with a maintenance schedule, written by the people who built it. Following that schedule is the single best thing you can do for your car, and our job is to make it easy. We look up what your exact year, make and model is due for, tell you what needs doing, and take care of it.

Every visit includes a free digital inspection. You get photos of your own car sent to your phone, along with a straight answer on what needs doing now, what can wait, and what is perfectly fine as it is.

The 30k / 60k / 90k Rhythm

There's an old shop truth: the cheapest repair is the one you never need. It's the whole idea behind your car's maintenance schedule. Your owner's manual lays out service intervals for a reason: fluids age, filters clog, and parts wear out - on a schedule engineers can predict. The 30,000, 60,000, and 90,000-mile services bundle that work into sensible visits, and skipping them is how small maintenance quietly becomes big repair. Not sure where your car stands? Bring it in - the inspection will tell us exactly which services are due and which aren't. See what each interval covers.

Auto Maintenance Questions, Answered

The maintenance questions Torrance drivers ask us most.

How often should I get an oil change?

Follow your manufacturer's interval, not the old 3,000-mile myth - modern engines and synthetic oils commonly run 5,000-10,000 miles between changes, and your owner's manual (or oil-life monitor) knows your engine best. Every oil change here includes the free digital inspection, so the rest of the car gets looked at on the same visit.

How often should you change synthetic oil - by months or miles?

Both - whichever comes first. Synthetic typically runs 7,500-10,000 miles between changes, but oil ages by time too, so most manufacturers pair the mileage with a 6-12 month limit. If you don't drive much, the calendar - not the odometer - is what brings you in. Your owner's manual has your engine's exact pair, and we'll tell you honestly which one you're actually hitting.

Will maintaining my car at an independent shop keep my factory warranty valid?

Yes. Federal law protects your right to have routine maintenance performed anywhere you choose - a dealership can't require you to service with them to keep the warranty. Keep your records (our digital inspections and invoices document everything), follow the factory schedule, and your warranty stays intact.

When does transmission fluid need to be changed?

Intervals vary widely by vehicle - some call for a transmission fluid change around 30,000-60,000 miles, others longer, and some "lifetime" fluids still benefit from service in stop-and-go Southern California driving. Dark or burnt-smelling fluid and hesitant shifting are the tells. We'll check yours during the inspection and quote the exact transmission fluid service for your car before any work.

Do hybrids need regular maintenance too?

Absolutely - a Prius still needs oil changes, rotations, and brake fluid like any car, plus hybrid-specific checks on the battery cooling system. That combination is our specialty: hybrid maintenance from technicians trained on high-voltage systems.

Something already acting up? We handle that too - expert auto repair, diagnosed with photos. Or browse every service by category.

One belt to rule them: on most engines a single serpentine belt drives the alternator, power-steering pump, water pump, and A/C compressor - when it snaps, everything stops at once. That is why the eyeball-and-squeeze belt inspection at every service is quietly one of the most valuable things we do. Same logic for wiper blades: on every factory schedule for a reason you rediscover in the first winter rain.

Beyond the big-name services: differential fluid, transfer case fluid, and power steering fluid all carry factory intervals too - if it has a drain plug and a schedule, we exchange it. Driving a Mercedes on A-Service / B-Service? Those are factory-scheduled maintenance by another name, and we do them by the book.

Stay On Schedule Without Thinking About It

Put your maintenance rhythm on your calendar

Pick how you drive and put a repeating reminder on your phone's calendar - one tap, no app, no sign-up. When it fires, book online or call (310) 373-7676 and you're handled.

These intervals follow the common 5,000-mile / 6-month factory interval; your exact schedule depends on your car, and we confirm it against the factory table when you're in. Drive a BMW, or a newer Honda or Acura? Your car announces its own services on the dash - keep this as a friendly backstop.

All repairs backed by our 2-year / 24,000-mile warranty.*
