Animated, and it walks the whole system in order: press the start button and the car first wakes its computers on the ordinary 12-volt battery, which is why every hybrid still has one. Only then does it check the high-voltage pack and close the main relays, which are built to cut power instantly in a fault or a collision and isolate the battery.
