Liz is a native Angelina, growing up in South Los Angeles. She moved to Las Vegas for ten years, but came back to be close to her family.
Leveraging her years of experience in retail management, Liz landed a manager position at Firestore six years ago. When Hillside was looking to add another service advisor to our team, Liz was an ideal candidate with her excellent track record and experience in service writing, parts ordering, job estimating and scheduling.
Although self-described as outgoing, Liz is succinct and to the point. This is a great trait for customers in a hurry and wanting to understand what work their car needs. Liz finds it "pretty awesome" being a woman working in a "man's industry". "Some people are shocked to see me working at an auto repair shop or when they find out what I do for a living. But I really enjoy it and am good at it. Some woman feel more comfortable talking to another woman, and it makes me feel good that I can help them with that."
Being female-friendly is important to Hillside Auto Repair. We went through Ask Patty certification. But having Liz there is an extra bonus and a feather in her cap.
Liz loves working at Hillside. "Everyone is so nice - the team and the customers. It's like a big ol' family!" And our Torrance shop is closer to home for her, and no more working Sundays! She likes Hillside emphasis on customer service, including giving customer rides home or having rentals available. Thee waiting room is clean and comfortable, with free WIFI, coffee, and snacks available. There's even a waterfall in the shaded outside waiting area.
During her time off, Liz enjoys spending her time with her 3 sons and 1 daughter. None have shown interest in cars yet, other than the youngest two boys really enjoy playing with their Hot Wheels. Liz loves muscle cars - you may see her tooling around Torrance and Los Angeles in her silver 2014 Charger.
Liz also loves to read - both fiction and nonfiction - and travel, especially to destinations with beaches like Playa Los Cerritos. Her favorite cuisine is Thai.
Another interesting thing about Liz is that she has 10 dogs and 1 cat. (Yes that's not a typo - TEN!) Her cat Luna lives in the front to get away from the dogs in the house and her big backyard. Since you asked: A couple of her dogs had puppies and they were just too cute to give away.
Please stop by and say "hi!" to Liz the next time your car needs service!
