It might be time for a Toyota Prius battery replacement.
Have you noticed reduced performance and a dashboard warning light indicating there could be battery problems? Don't give up on your Prius just yet!
The Prius GEN II batteries only last so long
Most hybrid batteries will take you where you want to go for about 100,000 miles or more. If you're driving a 2005 - 2009 Prius, you probably have GEN II batteries and their life span may be slipping away. With over the 1 million Toyota Prius hybrids on the roads today, the number of failing GEN II batteries will be on the rise. By being proactive, you can help prevent having battery problems or getting stranded. Do you know how much life is left in your Toyota Prius battery? At Hillside Auto Repair in Torrance, we can check by performing a Hybrid Battery State of Health Check.
Hillside's Hybrid Battery Health Check
The State of Health Check takes about 20 minutes to complete. The State of Health Check is performed by a Hillside technician who has been fully trained and certified in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining HEV electronic systems. The test can be run while you relax in the sunny waiting room or by the soothing waterfall outdoors.
- Assess the battery pack state of health in terms of conductance, which is related to battery capacity.
- Determines if the battery pack is getting weak.
- Reads and resets diagnostic trouble codes.
- Diagnoses any faulty or weak cells.
Afterwards, the service advisor will explain the test results with you and happily answer all of your questions. The service advisor will also present recommendations, if any, for corrective actions.
